Tessera is seeking a motivated, dependable, and missiondriven Facilities Maintenance Assistant Supervisor to support multitrade maintenance operations across Fort Lee. This role assists in overseeing daily maintenance activities, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance while supporting technicians, customers, and base operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to strong leadership, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Core Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of AbilityOne and SourceAmerica programs.
  • Uphold and embody Tessera's core values.
  • Align team goals with Tessera's value proposition, ensuring highly engaged employees contribute to customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards on job sites through effective risk controls and utilize Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).
  • Conduct root cause analyses to promote a safe working environment and maintain adherence to Tessera's Accident Reporting process.
  • Foster positive client interactions using effective interpersonal skills, demonstrating respect, empathy, and responsiveness.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in supervising multitrade maintenance teams, including assigning work, monitoring daily operations, and supporting training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture while ensuring quality, contract compliance, and adherence to DPW and installation standards.
  • Support general maintenance and repair operations across all base facilities, including conducting inspections, managing work orders, and ensuring timely and accurate task completion.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships by responding to inquiries, coordinating with base personnel and contracting officials, and assisting with reporting, documentation, and CMMS data tracking (Maximo).
  • Assist with procurement, inventory management, vendor coordination, resource planning, and collaboration with leadership and the COR to implement corrective actions and operational improvements.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in facilities maintenance or work control, preferably in a multitrade environment.
  • Associate degrees in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field required, bachelors preferred.
  • Supervisory or lead experience in maintenance operations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances and a U.S. Government CAC.
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms (Maximo preferred).
  • Strong communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to interpret contract requirements, safety standards, and building system operations.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
