About The Role

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages credit and account management activities to ensure profitable customer portfolios and acceptable credit risk in the team's loan portfolio. Provides sales management, support and decision making for personnel within assigned regional team to attain established goals. Assures prompt communication of Bank, Division and market strategies, goals and objectives to the team. Assures implementation of and adherence to loan policy and procedures, laws and regulations. Manages the cross-selling and retention efforts of team members.

Negotiates performance goals with team members and monitors and reviews goal progress. May work jointly with VP/Operations & Security Officer, Loan Processor Supervisor, and the assigned Regional Deposit Relationship Manager in setting performance goals. Responsible for holding team accountable to established goals. Conducts annual performance reviews with all direct subordinates and performs a variety of other managerial and administrative functions.

The region consists of Yakima, Sunnyside, Ellensburg and Dayton.

The pay range for this position is: $144,956.81 - $217,435.20 plus commissions, based on individual production, range of commissions $0 - $100,000/annually. You will become a participant in the Commercial Loan Officer incentive plan immediately upon starting employment with us.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs risk management and business development and administrative functions:

  • Directly administers a portfolio composed of selected key customers, usually larger, more complex, and/or significant problem relationships.
  • Serves as the primary leader of a specified group of branches within a region.
  • Will lead the development of a Regional Market Plan consistent with the strategic goals of the Bank, to define the Region's specific goals and action plans, and accomplish the results.
  • Functions as the loan production and business development manager for a team of relationship officers within a specified region.
  • Organizes, coordinates and actively participates in the relationship team's business development activities, ensuring prospect and customer call plans are developed and implemented.
  • Heavy involvement in community activities is required and may include evenings and weekends.
  • Conducts customer and prospect calls individually and jointly with other team relationship officers to enhance existing relationships and attract new customers.
  • Ensures that the business development and product knowledge training needs of the team are met.
  • Maintains liaison and coordinates with Bank personnel in other departments and regions to ensure the retention of relationships maintained with those personnel and to ensure that cross sale opportunities are maximized. For example, will work closely with VP/Operations & Security Officer with regard to Operations employees and issues and with assigned Regional Deposit Relationship Manager with regards to business development activities.
  • Takes leadership role in the recruiting efforts and succession planning for officers within the region of authority. Coordinates efforts with Human Resources and Chief Banking Officer.

Performs a variety of managerial and administrative functions:

  • Will conduct monthly team meetings, including both loan and deposit/relationship producers (i.e. Loan Officers, Branch Manager, other Officers in assigned team relationship).
  • Will set short- and long-term business development goals for Branch Managers and other branch staff, with input from Deposit Relationship Manager as needed, and hold Branch Manager, and other staff, as appropriate, accountable for those goals.
  • Conducts a formal performance review at least annually with each direct report (including loan officers, loan processors, and input regarding business development activities of branch managers).
  • Involved with subordinate personnel issues, including but not limited to promotions, demotions, and employee performance improvement plans.
    • Will work with Chief Banking Officer and/or Human Resources as needed regarding issues with Loan Production personnel.
    • As outlined on the Org Chart, Operations personnel report to VP/Operations & Security and Regional Deposit Relationship Manager. However, as the Team Leader, will be advised of personnel issues and will work closely with VP/Operations, Deposit Relationship Manager and/or Human Resources to resolve issues
  • Communicates and interprets bank guidelines, policies and programs in coordination with Executive Management and Human Resources.
  • Develops the credit, customer relations, and business development skills of team relationship officers through a combination of goal setting, delegation, training, counseling and performance appraisals.
  • Participates in formulating short and long range team plans and evaluating the team organization structure and operating procedures.
  • Keeps abreast of new financing products, methods and techniques, key industry trends and conditions and changes in laws, regulatory policies and accounting procedures.
  • Leads and participates in community affairs and activities.
  • Balances the number of borrower and non-borrower relationships assigned to each relationship officer to assure adequate time for a high level of customer service, timely credit submissions and officer calls.
  • Daily monitors administrative activities of team members to assure minimal risk to Bank.
  • Monitors approved annual budget for region in terms of loans, deposit, non-interest income and discretionary expenses for personnel supervised.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 10 years commercial / corporate banking experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Excellent knowledge of all Bank services and the ability to be creative and innovative in the use of products and services.
  • Strong people management techniques and knowledge of Bank personnel policies and procedures.
  • Sound credit judgment and strong underwriting skills.
  • High level of analytical skill to conduct loan analysis, monitor loan progress in consideration of market trends, credit/interest rates, economic conditions, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of the credit and non-credit financial needs of many types of businesses.
  • Strong business development and sales management experience and skills.
  • Strong, well-developed interpersonal skills to maximize business contacts and develop working relationships with potential and current commercial loan customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory training or experience.
  • Accurate, punctual, alert, dependable, and professional in appearance.
  • Ability to relate to others and impart knowledge and information in a clear, precise manner is essential.
  • Proficiency in technological tools such as Excel, Word, Outlook email system, and Bank software including "nCino and Jack Henry.
  • Ability to independently function efficiently and effectively under demanding and continual deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Mental capacity to evaluate, calculate and interpret complex information and situations simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage time and stress effectively to insure no loss of efficiency
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of service to clients.
  • High level of written and verbal comprehension, articulating complex ideas clearly and communicating effectively.
  • Ability to learn new processes and ideas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
