The Kroc Center is seeking a dynamic and organized professional to lead facility rentals, special events, and community engagement initiatives. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing events that drive revenue, strengthen community partnerships, and enhance the overall member experience. The ideal candidate will oversee event planning and operations, manage financial performance related to rentals and events, and serve as a key ambassador for the Kroc Center within the community. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, this position ensures operational excellence, strategic brand representation, and alignment with the mission of The Salvation Army Kroc Center.

The position offers a generous benefits package that includes excellent health, dental, vision, and hearing insurance as well as paid time off that includes 15 days of vacation per year, 12 sick days per year (6 of which can be taken like vacation days), 12 paid holidays, 2 personal days, and the ability to earn an additional 2 days of PTO through our wellness program. This exempt position has a pay range of $50,000 - $55,000 per year depending on qualifications.

KROC CENTER MISSION

In keeping with the mission of The Salvation Army, The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center provides facilities, programs and services that strengthen, encourage and enrich children, adults, and seniors through positive life-changing experiences.

SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Coordinate all aspects of facility rentals, special events, and community engagement initiatives to drive revenue growth, enhance member experience, and expand community partnerships. This role ensures strong financial performance, operational excellence, and strategic brand representation while supporting the overall goals and mission of The Salvation Army Kroc Center.

  1. Oversee all aspects of facility rentals and special event development and operations (i.e., ordering, prepping, serving, facility needs, promotion, staff coordination). Ensure all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are utilized.
  2. Develop and implement events and activities that provide opportunities for various demographics of Kroc membership, with particular emphasis on those that most utilize the Kroc.
  3. Financial responsibilities include budget preparation, monitoring of expenses and financial statements to meet revenue and budget targets, procurement of sponsorships and donor support, maintaining and executing contracts, processing payments and creating accurate sales reports.
  4. Oversee and maintain facility usage calendar, serving as the point person for coordination across the facility.
  5. Present Kroc to community leaders, groups, potential sponsors, and organizations through identifying and executing networking opportunities, trade shows, community events and other community engagement opportunities.
  6. Work in conjunction with the Marketing & Communications team on the preparation, posting and distribution of press releases, media alerts, feature stories, event alerts and media invites and other communication regarding Kroc Center programming needs.
  7. Assists in identifying and proposing internal and external stories, testimonials, developing public statements and talking points, and preparing/coaching Kroc Center representatives for any initiatives.
  8. Creates a community event attendance plan, coordinates all event appearances, records and tracks outcomes, coordinates and maintains relationships with MOU partners, and handles all event follow up as necessary.
  9. Responsible for the recruiting, hiring, orienting and supervision of Event Hosts, and secure appropriate staffing from across Kroc roles for proper event execution.
  10. Provides coverage as Manager on Duty.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, with preferred major in public relations, public administration, or business.
  • 2 years experience in similar responsibilities or equivalent in a facility offering similar programs and/or services, including cash handling.

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.



LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Applicant must posses a valid Wisconsin Driver's license with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army's insurance carrier. CPR/AED/First Aid and ServSafe Food Manager certification to be obtained within first 60 days of employment.

  • Knowledge of non-profit development trends
  • Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products, e-mail, and Internet.

This job is performed in a busy community center with variable noise level and temperature. The noise level in this work environment can vary from low to loud. The duties of this job will be performed in various settings within a community center including a typical office setting, gymnasium, game room, and aquatics center where conditions may be cooler, warmer and more or less humid than a normal office environment.

For other duties of this job, such as outdoor special events and community center activities, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment outdoors is usually moderate to loud.

This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
