HJF is seeking an IT Project Manager II to provide analytic, project coordination and administrative support to HJF's senior leadership in IT, security, and technology in order to facilitate IT operations and project initiatives. Works with IT staff, project leaders and business users on a variety of business process improvement and process automation to manage and help improve the Foundation's G&A operations.

This position provides endtoend project management and technical assistance for enterprise IT, security, and technology initiatives supporting HJF's senior leadership. Oversees the full OCIO project portfolio, managing demand intake, resource allocation, and execution to ensure ontime, compliant delivery, including CMMCrelated efforts. Partners with IT teams, project leaders, and business stakeholders to drive process improvement and automation, strengthening G&A operations through disciplined, resultsdriven program and project management.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.


  • Manages required actions and reporting for IT projects and helps to develop project timelines, monitors timeline status.
  • Manages and conducts program data collection and analysis.
  • Coordinates with IT project leaders/participants to maintain project summary information, calendars, and high-level status for all active IT projects.
  • Maintains documentation and informational materials, helps prepare presentations and coordinates communications related to IT projects.
  • Makes necessary arrangements for IT meetings and presentations related to projects. Collects and prepares materials to facilitate these meetings.
  • Coordinates communications within project team, organizing meetings and developing appropriate agendas, preparing meeting minutes and their appropriate dissemination, and following up on action items with responsible parties.
  • Provides leadership to assigned IT leads & maintains plans and objectives, including metrics to assess progress, using established standards.
  • Monitors milestones and deliverables to identify issues early, develops workarounds and communicates/ escalates to leadership as applicable.
  • Provides the team with constructive performance feedback via Project tracking tool (ex. ServiceNow, MS Project, SmartSheets, etc.).
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Vocational or technical training or Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and Hybrid delivery models.
  • Understanding of project lifecycle phases (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, closure).
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at varying levels, including managers and sponsors.
  • Successfully manage multiple projects or complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Exercise sound judgment in decision making and escalation.
  • Resolve complex issues through collaboration and critical thinking.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $93,100-$125,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
