Salary: $89,100- $114,000.
Schedule: 980 schedule

Focus: The Drafting Supervisor leads and coordinates the activities of the drafting team to ensure the timely, accurate, and consistent preparation of engineering drawings and documentation. This position oversees the application of CAD and GD&T standards across all projects, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements and manufacturability. The supervisor collaborates with engineers, designers, and production teams to streamline workflows, uphold drawing quality, and drive continuous improvement in drafting processes and standards.

Drafting Supervisor Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, coordinate, and establish drafting standards for the team.
  • Manage engineering drawings, drafting practices, and documentation control for compliance.
  • Oversee CAD and drafting reviews utilizing PDM workflow tools and scheduling to meet production needs.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Supervises and schedules drafting reviews, including CAD software upgrades, title block changes, tolerance stack analysis, safety reviews, vendor drafting support, security compliance, production request scheduling, ASME GD&T compliance, and drafting checking.

Drafting Supervisor Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree* in Business Administration or Engineering related.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or engineering drafting, including GD&T; Experience with ASME Y14.5 preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or lead drafting experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, or similar) and proficiency across multiple CAD platforms (Creo, Inventor, and SolidWorks) preferably with certifications.
  • Professional certification in mechanical drafting preferred.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent analytical, communication, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, manage high-volume workload, and willingness to be collaborative and support team efforts.

Location-Specific Requirements:

  • Must have a valid US Driver's License.
  • Minimal travel required (10% or less expected)
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
