Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Banquet Line Cook to join our culinary team at the St. James Hotel. In this role, you will support the Chef in preparing, cooking, and executing highquality dishes for banquets, events, and largescale functions. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a passion for cooking, and take pride in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to guests, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all foods for banquet events according to event orders, recipes, and sanitation standards.
  • Cook hot and cold food items efficiently, ensuring consistent quality for large-volume service.
  • Assist with banquet setup, final plating, and presentation, including proper garnishing for all dishes.
  • Ensure accurate portioning and timely execution of all menu items for events of varying sizes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and prep area throughout all stages of service.
  • Communicate effectively with the Chef and banquet team to ensure smooth, coordinated execution of events.
  • Address guest needs or concerns professionally to support an exceptional banquet experience.
Qualifications
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
  • Understanding of standardized recipes and cooking terminology.
  • Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and volume.
  • Familiarity with food allergens and dietary restrictions.
  • Attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with kitchen operations and scratch cooking.
  • Ability to multitask with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in creating visual food presentations.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
