Position Summary The Insurance Verification Representative plays a critical role in ensuring members experience a seamless onboarding and billing process. This role is responsible for verifying insurance benefits, determining eligibility for mental health services, communicating coverage details, and supporting internal teams and providers with accurate, timely information. The ideal candidate thrives in a fastpaced environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and is passionate about improving access to mental health services. Key Responsibilities Verify member insurance eligibility and mental health benefits through payer portals, phone calls, and internal systems. Confirm coverage details including deductibles, copays/coinsurance, authorization requirements, and telehealth eligibility. Accurately document all verification results in BetterHelp's systems and ensure information is easily accessible to providers and billing staff. Communicate benefit summaries to members in a clear, empathetic, and digestible way. Collaborate with billing, customer support, and provider operations teams to resolve insurancerelated issues. Follow up on missing information, coverage discrepancies, or denied verifications. Maintain uptodate knowledge of payer requirements, telehealth guidelines, and mental health benefit structures. Protect member PHI by following HIPAA regulations at all times. Contribute to process improvements to enhance verification speed, accuracy, and member experience. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* 3-4+ years of experience in insurance verification, medical billing, revenue cycle, or a related healthcare administrative role. Strong understanding of insurance plans (PPO, HMO, and behavioral health carveouts). Familiarity with telehealth coverage rules and mental health benefits. Experience with payer portals (e.g., Availity, CAQH, Aetna, Cigna, Optum, etc.). Excellent communication skills-able to break down complex benefits into userfriendly language. High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet daily productivity goals.
