Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Pilot in Richmond, Virginia. The Pilot is responsible for efficient operation of company aircraft, ensuring that all flights are conducted to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance. The Pilot is responsible for pre-flight planning, in-flight monitoring, and post-flight inspections, with close attention to regulatory requirements and company procedures.

Seeking candidates with a minimum of five years private/transport flight experience; Minimum 2,000 hours total time/minimum 1,000 multi-engine turbine hours; FAA Airline Transport Pilot License; Bachelor's degree; Challenger 300/350 (CL-30) type rating; Minimum 500 hours Challenger 300/350 experience; Prior Corporate or Charter experience, preferred; International Operations experience, preferred; Experience operating Gulfstream 600, Citation Encore, preferred.

Requirements for the Pilot position include:
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot License (ATP).
  • Licensure required: Written ATP(FAA), First-Class Medical, FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
  • 20/20 vision (or correctable to 2020).
  • FAA Type Rating(s) for company aircraft.
  • Thorough understanding of Federal Aviation regulations and safety procedures.
  • Must be able to thoroughly perform pre- and post-flight airplane inspections.
  • Must be able to function well in fast-paced situations.
  • Must have proficient knowledge with respect to flight operations manuals, regulations, and standards.
  • Must reside or be willing to relocate to within one hour of/two-hour call-out radius of the assigned home base.
  • Must possess a current passport and unrestricted ability to travel to the EU, Canada, and the Caribbean.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a FAA/DOT pre-employment drug screen and comply with random drug/alcohol testing.
  • Must be able to authorize release of and successfully pass an FAA Pilot Records Database (PRD) review with Chief Pilot.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operationally required.
  • Must Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical requirements must be met for the Pilot job, including frequently sitting for extended periods of time. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
