Position Overview
The Maintenance employee is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, and converting equipment, rolling stock, sprinkler systems, and other facility components. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in varying conditions, including occasional nights and weekends. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, cleaning up spills, and keeping the shop organized. A self-motivated attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
Responsibilities * Maintain rolling stock, sprinkler systems, and perform general maintenance throughout the plant.
* Diagnose, repair and convert plant equipment * Work occasional weekend and night shifts as needed * Work in outdoor conditions and be exposed to the elements * Clean up oil spills from equipment in the shop * Remove parts after installing new ones and keep the shop clean * Work safely and follow all related policies and programs to ensure a safe working environment * Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work requirements * Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors) using hand and power tools * Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions * Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems * Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts * Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on machinery * Perform other job tasks and projects as assigned Qualifications * Knowledge of AC/DC wiring methods
* Knowledge of AC/DC drives and motors * Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, B&R, Beckhoff) * Experience with touchscreens * Understanding of mechanical systems (bearings, alignment, chains, belts) * Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics * Skills in design and fabricating * Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery * Mill and lathe experience is a plus Compensation & Benefits In addition to a competitive wage, the selected candidate will enjoy a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, wellness programs, STD, LTD, life insurance, company matching 401(k) and pension. Pay rate $21.00 to $23.00 depending on experience.
