Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated construction inspector for SCDOT projects in South Carolina.

Responsibilities include:

• Inspect Transportation Construction Projects: Ensure all work and materials meet project plans, proposals, and specifications
• Perform Key Measurements & Calculations: Verify weights, volumes, and measurements to ensure accuracy
• Conduct Materials Testing & Sampling: Ensure materials meet quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
• Daily Documentation: Record all inspection activities and findings in detailed reports
• Work Outdoors: Enjoy the variety of working in different weather conditions and environments
• Physical Responsibilities: Be prepared for heavy lifting and manual tasks as part of the inspection process
• Independent Work: Take ownership of your tasks and work with minimal supervision
• Flexible Hours & Travel: Expect extended hours and occasional overnight stays as part of the role. Travel to construction sites throughout the Pee Dee Region is an essential function of this position, though most projects will be located in Darlington, Dillon, Marion, Florence or Horry Counties.

A valid driver's license is required.

The successful candidate will hold at least two applicable certifications, and one of the following:

• Associate's Degree in related field preferred

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

• SCDOT certifications
• CEPSCI certification
