Quality Control Supervisor

Summary:

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality control department and ensuring that all

products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves managing a team of quality

control inspectors, implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, and collaborating with other

departments to resolve quality-related issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Lead, mentor, and train a team of quality control inspectors.

* Schedule and assign daily tasks to the QC team to ensure efficient workflow.

* Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

* Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement within the department.

* Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and documentation (e.g., Standard Operating

Procedures - SOPs, inspection plans, test methods).

* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality, such as defect rates, customer

complaints, and non-conformance reports.

* Oversee incoming material inspections, in-process inspections, and final product inspections.

* Ensure all inspection and testing equipment is calibrated and maintained.

* Investigate and analyze the root causes of quality issues and product defects.

* Collaborate with production and engineering to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

* Prepare and present quality reports to management.

* Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies (e.g., ISO 9001,

FDA regulations, etc.).

* Participate in internal and external quality audits.

* Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance product quality and efficiency.

* Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing

environment. At least 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership position.

* Strong knowledge of quality control principles, tools, and methodologies (e.g., statistical process control -

SPC, FMEA).

* Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).

* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the

organization.

* Proficiency in using quality control software and Microsoft Office Suite.

* Certified Green or Black Belt a plus

* Internal audit experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) from the American

Society for Quality (ASQ).

Experience in a specific manufacturing industry (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical devices, electronics).

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
