Description

At Summit Credit Union, we believe the loan process should feel supportive, clear, and member-focused-not confusing or stressful. As our Loan Processor 1, you'll play a key role in ensuring a smooth lending experience by preparing files, supporting processors and closers, and providing exceptional service to members and internal partners.


What You'll Do (Your Impact)

  • Provide prompt, courteous, and thorough assistance to members throughout the loan process using multiple communication channels.
  • Submit complete, accurate loan applications to underwriting, ensuring necessary documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor your daily pipeline to keep tasks current and completed within expected timelines.
  • Collaborate with underwriters, Mortgage Loan Officers, and internal/external partners to optimize both the employee and member experience.
  • Prepare final closing packages and ensure all required numbers and documents reach the appropriate parties within established timeframes.
  • Maintain organized member files and support the ordering and verification of key documentation.


What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in real estate or lending preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number.
  • At least one year of work experience in a mortgage lending environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to support members and staff professionally.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, especially with numerical and document-focused tasks.
  • Ability to follow up on issues using investigative problem-solving and a customer service mindset.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of mortgage laws and regulations.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills, with comfort using decimals, percentages, and fractions.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Details:

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers. The employee may occasionally reach above/below shoulder level and lift/push/pull or carry up to 10 pounds.

Environmental/Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches may require exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.

Equipment Used:

A variety of office equipment such as telephone, printer, PC, and mobile devices.
