Description

The Risk Analyst 2 - IT serves as a critical subject matter expert responsible for leading risk identification, assessment, and mitigation efforts within the IT area. This role supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of risk management controls while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies. All actions undertaken by this position impact IT, member experience, and organizational risk posture, requiring specialized analytical and communication skills to maintain a strong and secure IT environment. The incumbent is expected to deliver high-quality insight and service across operational risk activities.

  • Consistent identification and mitigation of operational and regulatory risks in IT maintain a strong control environment and regulatory compliance.
  • Effective development and implementation of risk assessments and internal control measures reduce exposure to financial loss and operational disruptions.
  • Timely and comprehensive monitoring of risk events ensures prompt escalation and remediation, protecting the credit union and its members.
  • Sustained high-level member and stakeholder confidence is fostered through demonstrated risk management expertise and proactive communication.
  • Accurate and insightful preparation of reports and recommendations drive leadership's ability to make informed decisions.
  • Collaborative engagement with department staff and management results in well-informed training and process improvements based on emerging risks or trends.


Capability Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, risk management, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in IT, risk analysis, or related area in a financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory requirements and industry best practices relating to IT and risk management.
  • Proven analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and educate various stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency with core banking systems, office productivity software and risk management platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining organizational and confidentiality standards.

  • Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches requires exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.
  • Equipment Used: Variety of office equipment (telephone, printer, pc, mobile devices, etc).
