Type of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 1.00 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Varied Days and Hours (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

As a Field Operations Captain, you will perform expert-level patient care while actively supporting crew well-being, daily operations, clinical education, and quality improvement initiatives. Your role is pivotal in ensuring excellent crew support and operational efficiency.

This position is supervised by the Education Commander and Operations Commanders, and it requires a proactive approach to balancing priorities and improving clinical and operational outcomes. Shift Differentials

  • $2.00/hr Ambulance Service Differential, earned on all hours worked.

  • $5.00/hr Night Differential, earned on eligible night hours, stacks on base rate.

  • $3.00/hr Weekend Differential, earned on eligible weekend hours, stacks on base rate.

  • $2.00/hr Bachelor's OR $3.00/hr Master's Education Differential, if in approved focus, earned on all hours worked.

How you support the community.

  • Perform paramedic duties with excellence, serving as a role model.
  • Understand and meet clinical quality and time management expectations.
  • Utilize best practices to improve clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a relief Operations Commander when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for clinical staff.
  • Conduct debriefings after critical calls.
  • Train and implement clinical guidelines and procedures.
  • Support field personnel and maintain open communication channels.
  • Manage schedules, submit MIDAS entries, investigate incidents, and complete administrative tasks.
  • Facilitate communication between management and front-line staff.
  • Oversee orientation of new personnel and participate in training sessions.
  • Maintain relationships with EMS support personnel and other departments.
  • Support ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required

  • Current New Mexico driver's license is required without relevant restrictions.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a driving record insurable per Presbyterian policy

  • Must possess and maintain a State of New Mexico Paramedic license in good standing

  • Must maintain all required certifications (i.e., ACLS, BLS)

  • Must be up to date withFEMA 100, 200, 700 courses

  • EMT experience preferred

  • Must pass physical abilities assessment

  • Must obtain medical examiner certification/DOT certification as part of on-boarding and maintain.
