Moog's Military Aircraft Group is searching for a Quality Management System Leader. Reporting to our Torrance Site Director of Quality & Business Excellence, you will have a 9/80 schedule option and work on-site at our aerospace plant in Torrance, CA.

The QMS Leader is responsible for leading and maintaining the site's Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with AS9100, regulatory requirements, and Moog Aircraft Group standards. This role provides leadership for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Torrance site's quality system to ensure compliance, operational effectiveness, and long-term quality maturity.

The QMS Leader partners closely with operations, engineering, supply chain, and support functions to ensure quality processes are integrated into daily business operations. This role also leads key quality governance activities including Corrective Action Board (CAB) leadership, oversight of Notice of Escape investigations, and driving systemic improvements across the site.

To be considered for QMS Leader, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience working within AS9100-certified aerospace manufacturing environments

  • 10 years or more working experience with Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional quality initiatives

  • People Leader experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, or equivalent)

  • Experience leading corrective action programs and quality governance processes

  • Experience managing external certification and customer audits

  • Strong leadership and change management capabilities

As a QMS Leader, you will be responsible for:

QMS Ownership

  • Lead and maintain the site Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100, customer requirements, and Moog policies

  • Ensure QMS processes are documented, implemented, and continuously improved

  • Maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the quality system to support operational performance

  • Serve as the site subject matter expert for QMS requirements and compliance

Quality Governance

  • Chair and lead the site Corrective Action Board (CAB)

  • Ensure timely and effective root cause analysis and corrective action implementation

  • Oversee the management and closure of corrective actions, customer escapes, and systemic quality issues

  • Drive accountability across the organization for quality performance and process adherence

Escapes

  • Own the process management and governance for quality escapes, including Notice of Escape (NOE) events and customer notifications

  • Ensure events are properly processed, documented, and tracked in accordance with Moog procedures and customer requirements

  • Monitor and enforce timely progression of investigations, containment, and corrective actions

  • Provide visibility to leadership on status, aging actions, and systemic trends

Audit Leadership

  • Lead site preparation and coordination for external audits, including AS9100 certification, customer audits, and regulatory reviews

  • Oversee the internal audit program and ensure findings are effectively addressed

  • Ensure the organization remains audit-ready and compliant

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, EH&S, and Program teams to ensure alignment between the QMS and business operations

  • Support initiatives that improve performance, compliance, and operational effectiveness

Salary Range Transparency:

Torrance, CA $120,000.00-$160,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
