Overview

To gain valuable insight into Navy Federal's business, technology, resources and procedures by providing support in focused areas, applying knowledge and education. Participate in a collaborative, team driven network and interact with multiple departments. Receive guidance and direction from team and management. Utilize and further develop technical and soft skills, business knowledge, analytical techniques and creative problem solving abilities. Provide professional execution of day to day tasks and special projects while working within established standards, policies and procedures. This is a year-round, Full or Part -Time, flexible internship based on school schedule.

Responsibilities

* Assist with internal communications for enterprise or department events and campaigns designed to inform and/or drive action
* Create, write, and produce timely internal communications (eg, Management Fact Sheets, eGrams, flyers, brochures, pamphlets, blog posts) to inform management and employees while ensuring consistent messaging and organizational vision
* Collaborate with Human Resources, Marketing, Public Relations, Corporate Communications, and other business area colleagues to ensure internal communications are consistent with current policies and procedures
* Provide editorial content for Navy Federal's intranet site and Navy Federal Online
* Maintain a uniform editorial style to support the Navy Federal brand and guiding principles
* Serve as business unit client consultant and liaison for internal communication projects
* Assist with the creation of cohesive communication strategies for important company-wide and department initiatives to produce effective, timely deliverables
* Consult and collaborate with clients, leaders, and stakeholders across the organization to build relationships and provide guidance to effectively plan, compose, and manage the preparation, design, production, and distribution of a wide variety of employee communications
* Stay abreast of all applicable policies, procedures, rules, regulations, Navy Federal values, etc to ensure compliance in all communications
* Proofread and edit content for standardization to ensure clarity and accuracy
* Apply conceptual and practical expertise of the practices, processes, and systems related to the activities of the section
* Collaborate with business partners and apply procedures and precedent to resolve normal to moderately complex problems
* Conduct research, compile information, and present recommendations that have limited to moderate impact
* Serve as a resource to others in the department

Qualifications

* Seeking a Bachelor's Degree in Education, business, communication, behavioral sciences, training development or related field
* Working knowledge of communication, publication, and multimedia production processes
* Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to manage small to medium scale projects, work independently, and contribute to the goals of a team
* Knowledge of graphics, database, word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software
* Demonstrated administration, organization, research, time management and problem-solving skills
* Excellent skill communicating with all levels within an organization
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and in writing

Desired:
* Knowledge of Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations, and organizational objectives
* Experience in project management to include managing timelines/deadlines/resources, ensuring successful project implementation
* Copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills
