The Marketing Coordinator provides comprehensive support to OEM Account Managers, ColorWorks team members, and customers. This role ensures timely communication, accurate documentation, and seamless coordination of customer projects. In addition to supporting sales activities and customer interactions, this position provides essential administrative support and assists with onsite coordination for customer visits, workshops, and ColorWorks sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service & Sales Support

    • Serve as a primary support contact for OEM Account Managers and customers, ensuring prompt, professional, and solution focused service.

    • Assist with inquiries, order related tasks, sample coordination, documentation needs, and project timelines.

    • Participate in customer visits and virtual meetings; provide follow-up on action items to ensure customer satisfaction.

    • Review and verify samples, color chips, and project components prior to shipment.

  • Project & Operations Coordination

    • Partner with ColorWorks team members and lab personnel to ensure efficient and timely project execution.

    • Coordinate converter samples and customer project needs with internal production.

    • Track match components, customer resins, color standards, and project milestones.

    • Support the transfer database process and maintain data accuracy for OEM transfers.

  • Administrative Support

    • Provide administrative support to the ColorWorks and OEM Account Management teams, including scheduling, documentation management, and preparing customer materials.

    • Maintain organized records, reports, and tracking files to support project flow and customer communication.

    • Prepare and assemble meeting packets, presentation materials, and sample kits for internal and customer-facing activities.

    • Assist with SAP entries, documentation updates, and general office support activities as needed.

  • Onsite Event & Customer Visit Coordination

    • Assist with planning and coordinating onsite customer visits, workshops, ColorWorks sessions, and technical demonstrations.

    • Manage logistics such as meeting room scheduling, setup, customer hospitality needs, and ensuring a professional onsite experience.

    • Coordinate with production, labs, and support teams to ensure all materials, samples, and presentations are ready for onsite events.

  • Data, Documentation & System Support

    • Maintain accuracy in SAP, TX database, and related internal systems.

    • Prepare product code documentation, compliance documents, and materials such as Reach documentation for international shipments.

    • Provide support for reporting, project tracking, and other data driven needs.

  • Other Duties

    • Perform additional tasks assigned to support team, customer, and operational needs.

    • Participate in SAP and internal systems training as required.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The purpose of the Marketing Function is to deliver:



  • Profitable growth.
  • Gross margin targets as a percentage of sales.
  • Gross margin percentage expansion.
  • Vitality index growth.
  • Vitality GM targets.
  • New product launches.
  • Engagement of customers and the business leveraging key tools such as situational analysis, sales & marketing plans, the POL process, EVE tools, the pricing quote tool, marcom resources, effective product launch kits, etc.
  • Assists with tracking and measuring key market trends, competitive position, and delivery on specialization strategy.
  • Identifying new ideas and opportunities for growth.
  • Assists in generating effective sales campaigns, advertising programs and technical literature. Monitors gross margins and profitability against control standards.
  • Implements the industry's overall marketing goals. Monitors business results.
  • Assists with technical literature, advertising campaigns, definitions, specification, and performance standards. Develops and coordinates product promotion, technical presentations, and advertising through marketing staff and Marketing Communications.
  • Assists with new market development for current or prospective programs of for the penetration of existing markets. Conducts market research and analyses to track future marketplace trends, customer needs, competitor data, and product performance and acceptability. Monitors results and formulates short and long-term marketing strategies.
  • Assists in ensuring that customers and Avient sales personnel receive continuous technical support in the form of up-to-date product application technology, training, and problem solving. Develops contacts with major customers and suppliers. Conducts sales calls to maintain customer contact, promotes sales efforts, evaluates market trends, and develops business at target accounts.
  • Provides direction and training in Business Unit/Company/Corporate wide marketing training programs.
  • Works closely with Environmental Health & Safety to ensure products meet local, state, and federal/country regulations.
  • Attends various trade/organization functions to develop business contacts and gather market information.
  • Supports and is committed to Avient's LSS improvement process. Plans strategies to ensure error-free work and conveys this attitude in the daily performance of various duties.
  • Coordinates, supports and participates in the POL process and the situational analysis system.
  • Assists in creating value propositions for the industry, focusing on the customer and ensuring product quality and consistency.
  • Responsible to assist in communicating marketing activities to regional sales team, customer service, global partners and manufacturing to ensure smooth transition of strategy to action.
  • Holds conversations with R&D and partners to set direction for Avient. Takes customer and market trends, feedback, and opportunities to create technology focus. Owns key linkage between customer, business and technology.
  • Assists with the development and planning of the industry approach, modeling, and marketing communication(s).
  • Drives measurement and tracking activities including market size, market share, and ROI.

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 2-5 years of experience in a customer service, administrative, or sales support role, preferably in a global OEM or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong communication skills and professional customer-facing demeanor.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SAP experience preferred.
