Position Summary The Performance Testing Engineering Internship position is located within the Grid Technology Engineering & Evaluation (GTEE) organization within ATS. GTEE operates state-of-the-art laboratories for advanced T&D hardware & software validation, real-time hardware-in-the-loop power system modeling & simulation, and communication interface testing with highly qualified staff who leverage unique technical engineering design & fabrication skills to solve PG&E's most complex engineering challenges in waveform analytics, system protection, electric reliability, DERs, V2X & electrification, microgrids, ADMS, DERMS, predictive analytics, and Integrated Grid Planning (IGP). The Performance Testing Engineering Internship position will be at the groundbreaking edge of this through supporting ongoing project testing of a variety of heat pump water heating products as well as HVAC and hot water distribution balancing valves and insulation qualities with the overarching goal of creating a decarbonized and reliable grid, while continuing to be the leader in reducing overall peak demand and total energy usage. Performance Testing Engineers generate critical test data and present results from energy efficiency test cases in support of ASHRAE (American Society for Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers), ACEEE (American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy), AHRI (Air Conditioning Heating and Refrigeration Institute), DOE (Department of Energy), and CEC (California Energy Commission). Quite often, work performed among this team will lend itself to changes in California and National Building Codes and Standards. PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24.52 to $35.37. Responsibilities Supporting senior staff with:
