Summary

Deriva Energy is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support the evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of business applications and digital solutions across the organization. This role focuses on understanding business processes, supporting system enhancements, and helping bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.

The Business Systems Analyst will work closely with internal teams, technology partners, and project stakeholders to document requirements, support system changes, assist with testing, and help ensure technology solutions align with business needs. The role provides exposure to modern enterprise platforms, digital technologies, and emerging solutions that support operational efficiency and data-driven decision making.

This position is ideal for an early-career professional looking to develop strong skills in business analysis, enterprise systems, and technology-enabled process improvement.

This position is based in Charlotte, NC.

Main Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Support

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand operational processes, challenges, and system needs

  • Assist in gathering and documenting business and functional requirements for system enhancements and new technology solutions

  • Translate business needs into clear documentation such as process flows, user stories, and functional requirements

  • Support the analysis of existing systems and workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, or improved data usage

Solution Delivery & Project Support

  • Participate in technology initiatives and system implementation projects by supporting planning, documentation, and coordination activities

  • Assist with configuration validation, solution reviews, and functional testing during system enhancements or new implementations

  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by coordinating testing activities and documenting results

  • Help ensure solutions align with business requirements and established architectural or governance standards

Systems Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with the support of business applications by helping investigate issues, documenting root causes, and coordinating resolution with technical teams

  • Help track and document system changes, configuration updates, and enhancement requests

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying process improvements and opportunities to better leverage technology solutions

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain clear documentation for system functionality, business processes, and operational procedures

  • Support the development of training materials, knowledge articles, and internal documentation to improve user adoption and system understanding

  • Help maintain documentation repositories to ensure information remains current and accessible

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with business teams, technology teams, and project stakeholders across the organization

  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and working sessions to gather information and support solution development

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

  • One (1) year or more of experience in business analysis, technology support, project coordination, or a related role

  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree in a related field, HS Diploma/GED with five (5) years or more of relevant work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Three (3) years or more of experience in business analysis, technology support, project coordination, or a related role

  • Exposure to enterprise business applications or cloud platforms

  • Strong interest in enterprise systems, digital technologies, and business process improvement

  • Familiarity with business analysis techniques such as requirements documentation, process mapping, or user story development

  • Experience supporting technology projects, system implementations, or digital initiatives

  • Basic understanding of data analysis, reporting tools, or automation technologies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt in a fast-changing environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Working Conditions

  • Based in Charlotte, NC

  • Hybrid work environment (4 days in office)

  • Occasional travel may be required to support key initiatives or projects
