OVERVIEW:

The Liquor Runner is primarily responsible for filling filters to the appropriate level and correct mixture. This person will direct liquor through proper flow lines, follow prescribed filter cycle within the correct sequence to run liquor. The Liquor Runner also keeps the liquor gallery and assigned area(s) clean.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Directs, regulates, and changes flow of liquid streams to and from char filters at specified times in such a manner to maintain appropriate tank and filter levels.
  • Engages and stops belts necessary to fill char filters.
  • Ensures proper installation of fitting on filter neck. Cleans filter-gasket rim of foreign material and secures filter head; Vents char filters of entrapped air.
  • Notifies Kiln Leadermen of filters ready to be emptied (ran down).
  • Starts and stops refiltration pumps and liquor-gallery, hot-water pumps.
  • Collects various samples for laboratory analysis. Takes brix and conductivity readings and notifies supervisor if out of specifications. Rinses sample-cooler line.
  • Responds to alarms and tank-level gauges.
  • Keeps area clean and orderly.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate written records.
  • Performs various duties as directed by supervisors.
  • Performs all job tasks in accordance with established safety practices and sanitation standards.



WORK EXPERIENCES:



  • Requires 1-2 years of prior experience working/training in an industrial/manufacturing setting



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Completion of Process Technician (PTECH) program/degree is preferred

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)



  • Effective communication with others is required.
  • Must have the ability to take brix samples, reach instruments, turn valves, and adjust switches.
  • Must have the physical ability to lift up to 50lbs. effectively if needed; Must have ability to stand, bend, climb, reach, lift, and walk through work area.
  • The ability to work in a hot, humid, and dusty environment is necessary.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.



HOURLY RATE:



  • Starting Rate: $29.57
  • Paid vacation and sick time after probationary period
