Summary:

The Engineering Intern will support the Data Initiatives Group by providing engineering support to accelerate data-driven innovation and integrate emerging technologies into day-to-day Operations. This role provides hands-on exposure to engineering analytical concepts, operational assets and processes, and project management within Energy Transfer's operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The position will support Data Initiatives Group personnel with implementation of data enhancement and standardization projects focused on field operations-related activities and equipment.
  • Aid engineering staff with buildout for data hierarchy and standardization within Operations data historian.
  • Assist with day-to-day engineering and technical support for various data initiatives.
  • Learn about and review machine learning model concepts for benefit of cost and risk reduction opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders to oversee the implementation of approved projects
  • The position will participate in communication and coordination efforts with Operations, Operations Services, and IT personnel in area of responsibility.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate Engineering degree program with a minimum of sophomore-level engineering courses.
  • General requirements include self-motivated individuals, involvement in activities outside college studies.
  • Above average GPA

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Must possess a strong willingness to learn
  • Willing to travel
  • Excellent attention to details.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to adapt well to rapidly changing priorities and responsibilities
  • Ability to organize, perform and prioritize various functions in a fast paced environment
  • Must be a team player, and able to work effectively with a diverse workforce and with various levels within the organization
