Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Gatehouse Driver in Port Arthur, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a chemical and/or petrochemical location, you will help manage site entry by verifying credentials, issuing badges, and guiding employees and visitors with professional customer service. You will support security-related reporting, communicate clearly with on-site teams, and help maintain smooth traffic at gates and checkpoints. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, contractors, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at gates and/or entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing temporary credentials as directed, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs.
  • Monitor and document inbound and outbound vehicle and pedestrian traffic, coordinate with site contacts for approvals, and report irregular activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and supporting evacuations and/or shelter-in-place actions as directed.
  • Complete routine security-related reports, shift logs, and incident documentation, and communicate status updates to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
