Research Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacology (Oncology)

Job Description

With over 35 preclinical targets in our pipeline! NIBR Oncology strives to reimagine medicines for cancer patients through a combination of treatment approaches including targeted therapies, immunotherapies, CAR-T, and radioligand therapy.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of scientists in the Oncology Pharmacology group, playing a key role in the development of in-vivo models of cancer and their use for evaluating new drug candidates. Qualified applicants will be proficient in animal handling techniques, possess practical knowledge of biological assays and have extensive experience in sterile techniques for tissue culture and immune cell expansion.

In addition, applicants will exhibit strong communication and organizational skills, critical problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to excellence. Prior experience with oncology xenograft models for use in efficacy and PK/PD studies is required. Knowledge of immunology and experience with immunological assays is a plus.

Key responsibilities and opportunities:
* Develop, validate, and implement relevant in-vivo oncology-related xenograft models including subcutaneous and orthotopic xenograft models, syngeneic tumor models and PBMC and/or T cell adoptive transfer models for profiling the pharmacological effects of drug candidates.
* Carry out ex-vivo pharmacodynamic studies tailored to the molecular target of interest, including cellular and molecular readouts, and flow cytometric analysis
* Engineer cell lines using standard molecular biology techniques
* Responsible for execution, analysis, documentation and reporting of experiments for the evaluation of pre-clinical oncology drug candidates
* Present results within a multidisciplinary team environment

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:
* BS/MS in Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or related field with 2+ years of industry or academic experience
* Hands-on in vivo experience to execute pre-clinical studies is required
* Experience with standard molecular and cell biology techniques, such as qPCR, Western blot, engineering cell line is a plus
* Knowledge of cancer biology, cell signaling and immunology is a plus
* Ability to independently design and conduct experiments.
* Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills and critical problem-solving abilities
