The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the faculty position of Counselor, Adult Education Transitions, English Performance Success, and ESL, De Anza College. The Foothill - De Anza Community College District does not have a remote work policy. All employees are expected to be available to work in person and on-site per the requirement of the department. This is not a remote position. Schedule includes on-campus and off-campus responsibilities, and may include evening and weekend hours. Position Overview Under the direction of the Dean of Language Arts, and in collaboration with the Vice President of Workforce Innovation and Economic Advancement, Counseling Division, CTE divisions, and instructional faculty, the Counselor/Coordinator provides comprehensive counseling, advising, and program coordination services for students transitioning from Adult Education, enrolled in corequisite-supported English and ESL courses, and pursuing transfer and career pathways. The position integrates academic, career, and personal counseling with program coordination, outreach, and retention initiatives designed to improve access, persistence, and completion for disproportionately impacted student populations. Standard faculty responsibilities include curriculum development and evaluation for credit and noncredit offerings (including Credit for Prior Learning, Competency-Based Education, short-term courses, Dual Enrollment, and incarcerated student programs); maintaining scheduled office hours; attending department and division meetings; participating in professional development; serving on college and district committees; and contributing to program review, planning, and evaluation. Faculty may also participate in a wide range of on- and off-campus extracurricular and student engagement activities.
