Job Summary:

Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified Supervisor to join their team in West Long Branch, NJ. The Clinical Supervisor provides nursing care in the acute care setting within the scope of practice defined by the Nursing Practice Act and regulatory standards. Assists in directing and supervising all functions and activities in a patient care setting. Supervises and trains RNs, LPNs, CMAs, and MA externs. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments - i,e, damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas - and medical errors. Ensure the practice is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • AS Degree
  • Two to three years' experience in related specialty

Preferred:

  • Previous office supervisory or managerial experience preferred
  • Bilingual a plus.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Current NJ Licensure required for LPN or RN

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift, 40 hours/week
  • Full-Time Schedule

  • Maintains positive relationships with all customers, employee, physician, patient, visitor, and guests

  • Adheres to budgetary guidelines and targets-proactively manages budget variances and causes.
  • Determines priorities and organizes work and time to meet them.
  • Follows sound employee retention techniques; effective selection and interviewing, recognition, fair and timely discipline, and ongoing performance feedback
  • Interacts constructively, tactfully and diplomatically with others and resolves conflicts effectively Demonstrates cultural competency and ability to maintain a diverse workforce
  • Completes tasks and assignments in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Remains positive and focused despite obstacles and setbacks.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing assignments.
  • Organizes multiple assignments and/or projects simultaneously to accomplish goals.
  • Assists the physician(s) with patients. Including preparing patients and the examination rooms, taking initial medical history for the chart, taking vital signs, making lab and x-ray appointments, and explaining the preparations to the patients.
  • Back up for Practice Manager in the absence of Practice Manager in conjunction with Front office Supervisor.
  • Checks dating of medical supplies or assigns process to other employee.
  • Gives instructions to patients as instructed by physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
