The Role The Senior Administrator, Finance and Legal & Risk Management provides high-level, confidential, and independent administrative and operational support to senior executives within the Finance and Legal & Risk Management divisions, including the Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel (or equivalent senior leaders). This role operates in a fast-paced, highly confidential environment requiring sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities across two complex corporate functions. The Senior Administrator serves as a trusted partner to executive leadership, proactively managing calendars, meetings, travel, expenses, and critical administrative processes, while supporting governance-related activities, compliance workflows, and cross-functional coordination. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and comfort working with sensitive financial, legal, and risk-related information, as well as regular interaction with senior leaders, Board-adjacent stakeholders, and external partners. Executive & Leadership Support (60%)
- Provide advanced, executive-level administrative and operational support requiring independent judgment and discretion.
- Proactively manage complex, high-volume calendars for senior leaders across Finance and Legal & Risk Management, anticipating conflicts and resolving issues independently
- Coordinate executive-level meetings, including agenda management, pre-reads, technology setup, minutes or action tracking, and follow-up as appropriate
- Manage end-to-end executive travel logistics, including itineraries, approvals, real-time adjustments, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Process and reconcile expense reports and corporate credit card activity with accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to policy
- Manage purchase orders, invoices, and vendor payments for executive offices, escalating issues as appropriate
- Exercise sound judgment in handling routine approvals and identifying matters requiring executive decision-making
- Support preparation of presentations, reports, briefings, and other materials for internal leadership meetings, Board-related interactions, or external engagements
- Serve as a point of coordination among executive assistants and administrative staff across Finance, Legal, Risk, and related functions to ensure alignment and efficiency
Finance, Legal & Risk Operations Support (40%)
- Support governance-related processes such as Audit Committee, Risk Committee, or Board-adjacent meetings, including scheduling, materials coordination, documentation tracking, and minute-taking as requested.
- Manage the end-to-end process for payments to third-parties for Legal & Risk Management Division, including vendor set-up, coordinating the review of invoices, and requesting payments.
- Assist with coordination of legal, compliance, audit, or risk-management activities, including deadlines, document management, and follow-up actions
- Maintain organized systems for confidential records, contracts, financial documents, and legal materials in accordance with internal controls and retention requirements
- Coordinate with internal partners (e.g., Internal Audit, Compliance, HR, IT, external counsel, auditors, or consultants) to support smooth execution of Finance and Legal priorities
- Track key deadlines, deliverables, and action items across Finance and Legal initiatives to support timely execution and flag issues requiring additional attention
- Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned by Finance or Legal leadership
- Uphold strict confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive financial, legal, personnel, or risk-related information
- Perform other job duties as required to ensure smooth operations of the Finance and Legal & Risk Management teams
Required qualifications for the role
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience or education
- Demonstrated experience providing high-level support to senior leaders, preferably within Finance, Legal, Risk, Audit, Compliance, or similarly regulated environments
- Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations
- Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing demands independently
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leaders, internal partners, and external stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with professionalism and poise in both in-person and virtual settings
- High level of customer service orientation and collaborative working style
- Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
Compensation Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:
- Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $60,775 - $67,925 base salary
- Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $53,975 - $60,325 base salary
- Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $49,725 - $55,575 base salary
The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).
