The Senior Business Analyst - Finance & Accounting will be responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to identify and document detailed requirements associated with business and IT initiatives, leading technical projects, defining test scenarios and use cases, testing technical deliverables, researching technical solution options, and providing support/consultation to assigned business areas to ensure IT and business alignment.

Responsibilities of Position:



  • Work with internal and external customers to gather, organize, and document stakeholder requirements for projects and application enhancements
  • Deliver SAP configuration support within all Finance-related modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, and Internal Orders
  • Develop and maintain a strong SAP user community through end-user training, support, and knowledge sharing to keep solution aligned with the business
  • Perform stakeholder, impact, and gap analysis
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and project status meetings
  • Develop business cases and scope for proposed projects
  • Construct and manage detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, and master test plans
  • Coordinate quality acceptance testing and user acceptance testing
  • Develop and execute training plans for current application changes and new application releases
  • Create and manage change requests and software enhancement requests
  • Assist in troubleshooting post-implementation issues for projects
  • Manage POC (proof of concept), RFP (request for proposal), and RFQ (request for proposal) process
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and solution development activities; analyze and quantify the potential value of the solution options
  • Provide support and consulting services for various technology systems
  • Function as the liaison between IT and the business to ensure the successful delivery of projects and application enhancements, timely identification and resolution of technology-related issues, delivery of quality IT services, and strategic alignment between IT and the business
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with vendors to ensure expectations are clearly communicated, project deliverables are provided in a timely manner, quality standards are met, and SLA are adhered to
  • Review, evaluate, and develop recommendations for enhancements and support of applications
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and automation within IT and the various lines of business
  • Conduct research, analyze data, and develop insights to assist in project planning and decision-making
  • Work with programming resources to ensure system enhancements follow the appropriate IT guidelines, meet or exceed user requirements, and are completed on time
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Run ad-hoc reports using SQL queries, SAP tools, or other reporting tools
  • Perform job duties in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management



Supervisory Responsibility:



  • This position will not manage employees



Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:



  • Familiarity with all types of technical documentation (business requirement documents, process maps, system diagrams, user experience, uses cases, user stories, test plans, test cases, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to effectively convey information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize work, and manage multiple assignments concurrently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:



  • 5+ years of relevant business analysis experience
  • Experience with SAP S4 required
  • 3-5 years of experience with SAP FI (GL, AP, AR, FA), CO (CCA, PCA, Internal Orders)
  • Experience with SAC Analytics and SAC Planning preferred
  • Focused experience working directly with Finance and Accounting departments
  • 3+ years of relevant project management experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of working with ERP applications preferred
  • Experience with large software implementations and systems integrations
  • Exposure to various project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid of both)



Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:



  • Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 10 lbs
  • Frequently sitting
  • Rarely standing/walking



Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:



  • Ability to travel between offices, as required
  • Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
