Position Summary

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician to join the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive clinical care for high-risk obstetric patients, engage in teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, and fellows, and contribute to ongoing research and scholarly activity within the department. The Division of MFM supports an ABOG-accredited MFM fellowship and serves as an Administrative Perinatal Network hospital for the State of Illinois. Candidates with clinical or academic interests in ultrasound, perinatal psychiatry, or human genetics and genomics are encouraged to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide on- and off-site MFM clinical coverage as attending physician in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Provide on- and off-site obstetrical sonography clinical coverage, including interpretation and performance of ultrasound studies, as appropriate.
  • Perform ambulatory and procedural services, including amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), fetal echocardiography, and cerclage placement.
  • Supervise Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellows during Labor and Delivery rotations and other assigned clinical activities.
  • Provide antepartum inpatient service coverage as the attending physician.
  • Participate in out-of-house call coverage for MFM consultations and maternal transports, as assigned.
  • Develop and deliver didactic education for medical students, residents, and MFM fellows.
  • Mentor medical students, residents, MFM fellows, and faculty in clinical care, education, research, and scholarly activities.
  • Participate in maternal morbidity and mortality conferences, including activities at affiliated and network hospitals.
  • This position does not require in-house night call.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or equivalent
  • Board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG)
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (ABOG)
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Illinois
