We are currently seeking a Senior Operations Engineer. (Forging). This position reports to the Manager of Isothermal Operations at our Cudahy, WI plant. As a successful Senior Operations Engineer. (Forging), you will be part of a tactical team that plays a crucial role in the overall improvement processes and procedures of our facility. Essential Functions:
- Responsible for overseeing the isothermal manufacture of assigned family of parts. Activities include approving prints and procedures, issuing cut weights, issuing/updating manufacturing instructions, and following tryouts through all manufacturing operations to provide high quality, cost effective forging procedures for new and legacy parts.
- Seeks improvement opportunities and implements changes to manufacturing procedures to reduce cost, increase efficiency, improve safety, and reduce lead time. Works with manufacturing, quality, and design departments to facilitate these changes.
- Provides root cause and corrective action analysis for scrapped product or product which does not meet customer requirements and directing the implementation of corrective actions that result from this analysis.
- Develops strong relationships with all operating departments and personnel to ensure that shop floor manufacturing issues are addressed.
- Identifies equipment issues that impact product quality and supports maintenance/facilities engineering during troubleshooting.
- Responsible for forge tooling repair analysis and disposition to uphold acceptable levels of quality.
- Dispositions product for rework or clears parts through inspection operation for continued processing.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Metallurgical Engineering
- 2+ years working in a related manufacturing field.
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications)
- Experience using ERP, MS Office, Inspection software
- Experience with metallurgical concepts
- Internship in a related field
