Lead Software Developer - AI Solutions

Enterprise AI Team - Molex

Your Job

Molex is a $9B global manufacturer - the connectors and sensors inside everything from cars to data centers to medical devices. The Enterprise AI Team is a new, small group building AI-powered solutions across supply chain, manufacturing, sales, and operations.

We need a hands-on technical lead who can own the architecture, direct a team of four developers, and serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and the engineering team. You'll write code, direct AI coding agents, review every PR, and build the foundational patterns your team works from. This is not a management role - it's a technical leadership role where you're the most senior builder on the team.

Location: Wichita KS, Lisle, IL. Hybrid - Onsite Three Days Per Week.

Our Team

Five people total: four developers embedded across business domains and you as the lead. The cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and security guardrails are already in place. We're building the development layer on top that lets the team go from idea to deployed solution in days. AI-assisted development is the operating model, not a pilot.

What You Will Do

* Own the technical architecture - design and maintain the templates, patterns, and development standards the team builds on. Make it easy for developers to start building immediately instead of fighting infrastructure.

* Lead through building - write code, use AI development tools, and review your team's output. Set the quality bar by example.

* Bridge business and engineering - meet with stakeholders across supply chain, manufacturing, sales, and operations. Understand their problems and turn them into scoped projects.

* Direct AI-assisted development - use AI coding tools as the primary workflow. Orchestrate AI agents to build in parallel, review their output, and ship what passes.

* Keep the platform evolving - when better tools or patterns emerge, integrate them. Keep shipped solutions current as the platform improves.

* Mentor the team - guide four developers in AI-first development patterns. Build the institutional knowledge that makes everyone faster.

Who You Are

* You build with AI tools: You've used AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) to build real software and know how to direct them effectively.

* You think in systems: You naturally consider how components connect, how data flows, and how things fail. You make architectural decisions that hold up.

* You've led technical teams: You've been the senior technical contributor others look to. You know how to multiply a team's output.

* You translate between business and tech: You can understand a stakeholder's pain point and turn it into a development plan by end of day.

* You move fast: Prototype this week, ship next week. You're comfortable with ambiguity and learning by doing.

* Software architecture and development experience across backend and/or full-stack systems.

* Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

What Will Put You Ahead

* A portfolio of projects built with AI coding tools.

* Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial environments.

* Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration.

* Experience with event-driven systems or real-time data processing.

* Experience building developer tooling, templates, or internal platforms.

For this role, we anticipate paying $140,000- $210,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
