Milliman's New York - Atlanta Health Practice consults to clients on a variety of healthcare industry topics, including healthcare reform, payer/provider risk arrangements, and payer systems. Our clients span all sectors of the healthcare industry. We bring unparalleled actuarial, analytical, and operational expertise to these clients.

The Senior Healthcare Consultant will work with Milliman consultants across the firm on the following tasks:



  • Manage and develop clients among healthcare provider organizations, insurers, life sciences companies, patient advocacy groups, and other stakeholders in the healthcare industry
  • Design and execute claims-based data analyses to demonstrate Milliman's capabilities and expertise in the healthcare arena
  • Draft research articles or white papers highlighting claims-based insights related to emerging healthcare activity
  • Apply your experiences to a wide array of healthcare system topics including healthcare reform
  • Assist junior colleagues with the development of their analytical and consulting skills
  • Manage project teams, including work assignments, production of deliverables, and quality review


Qualifications



  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as: PharmD, RN, MD, MPH, MS, PhD, or relevant certifications (e.g., FSA, ASA)
  • At least 15 years of experience in healthcare consulting (analytic or strategic) or senior management experience with a health carrier, care management vendor, pharmaceutical entity, healthcare-focused government agency, or other healthcare related organization
  • Demonstrated experience designing and leading the full life cycle of a healthcare claims-based analytic project, from conceptualization to design to execution to results presentation
  • A deep understanding of medical coding systems (CPT, ICD, DRG, etc.)
  • Detail oriented, capable of carrying out a given task with all the details necessary to get the task done well
  • Effective teamwork and exceptional written/verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team


Location

We seek energetic and imaginative professionals to join our client-oriented team at our New York, NY or Atlanta, GA locations, but fully remote candidates will also be considered. Successful candidates will have the ability to lead work with innovative clients seeking answers to complex business challenges. We anticipate this job will be part-time, scheduled at 3 days per week (60% of a full-time position). The expected application deadline for this job is March 17, 2026.

Compensation



    The overall salary range for this role is $78,960 - $149,868. For candidates residing in:



    • Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Newark, San Jose, San Francisco, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the range is $90,804 - $149,868
    • All other locations the range is $78,960 - $130,320


    A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
