Position Title: CNC Setter
Wage: $24/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:30am-4pm Are you a skilled CNC professional who can take a machine from zero to production-ready with confidence? We're looking for a hands-on CNC Setter who thrives on precision, understands metric systems, and knows how to set up lathes and mills from scratch. If you can read prints like a roadmap and dial in tooling with accuracy, this is your opportunity to step into a high-impact role. This is an associate to hire opportunity in Kansas City, MO. CNC Setter Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Set up CNC lathes and CNC mills from start, including program reading, tooling selection, installation, and calibration - Establish work shift datums and proof programs step by step to ensure safe and accurate tool paths - Read and interpret engineering prints to ensure precise machine setup - Work with three-axis mills, c-axis live tooling lathes, and y-axis live tooling lathes - Operate CNC machines efficiently when not performing setup tasks - Utilize measuring tools such as micrometers and dial bore gauges for precision checks - Work with metric-based systems, as all company machines operate in metric - Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all machining operations CNC Setter Requirements: - Minimum 2 years of experience with Fanuc OT, OM, OI controllers, Okuma OSP, and Mitsubishi controls - Strong experience in CNC setup and operation, including troubleshooting and adjustments - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents - Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment - Willingness to contribute to production operations when setting tasks are not available - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds - Stand and walk for extended periods during the shift - Perform repetitive motions, including bending, twisting, and reaching - Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity - Ability to work in a noisy environment with ear protection - Must know basic measurement with caliper and/or micrometer QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
