Job Summary

As Senior Director, Business Development, you will lead the team responsible for driving net new partnerships within the Consumer Bank, on a high-growth team within KeyBank. This role is a critical growth engine for our go-to-market strategy, focused on expanding our footprint across the healthcare industry by leveraging internal KeyBank relationships, strategic broker channels, and outbound prospecting.

You will oversee a team of Sales Directors and Business Development Representatives and collaborate closely with Partnerships and Enablement teams in addition to KeyBank commercial banking teams to deliver tailored financial wellness solutions to employer groups (B2B) and strategic partners (B2B2C).

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and scale a high-performing business development organization targeting mid-market and enterprise partners, with a primary focus on the healthcare vertical.

* Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership acquisition strategy aligned with KeyBank's growth objectives.

* Manage a team of sales and business development professionals, including setting performance targets, coaching, and enabling them with the right tools, messaging, and collateral.

* Collaborate cross-functionally with KeyBank stakeholders (e.g., Commercial Banking, Treasury Services, Payments, Healthcare Finance) to co-sell and jointly deliver value to partner prospects.

* Build and maintain relationships with strategic brokers, consultants, and third-party influencers to drive channel-sourced partnership opportunities.

* Actively engage in high-value prospecting and deal execution, including negotiation, contracting, and onboarding of new partners.

* Analyze sales performance and pipeline metrics to forecast growth, optimize territory coverage, and refine go-to-market strategy.

* Represent KeyBank at relevant industry events, conferences, and client engagements.

Qualifications

* 10+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or enterprise sales, ideally within fintech, healthcare, financial services, or SaaS.

* Proven success building and managing sales teams focused on complex, consultative sales to employers, benefits decision-makers, or affinity groups.

* Experience selling into or through brokers, benefit consultants, or financial intermediaries strongly preferred.

* Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in matrixed environments and influence senior stakeholders.

* Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.

* Data-driven mindset with experience using CRM, pipeline analytics, and performance dashboards, examples include but not limited to Salesforce, Outreach, Monday.com

* Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $128,000.00 - $268,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
