Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide supervision to assigned staff by ensuring the overall production on assigned shift, identifying training needs, providing training to staff, conducting audits, and serving as the primary POC for escalation resolution. This is a customer facing role that will ensure customers are provided with prompt and quality service, collaborate with vendors to manage disruptions and initiatives, and send operational communications to staff/customers/vendors. Moreover, this position will lead special projects and optimization initiatives to enhance and improve operations.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
  • Associate degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience to select, train, motivate, recognize, supervise, evaluate the performance of staff and ensure operational success
  • Prior experience in materials or inventory management such as purchasing, distribution methods, supply chain techniques, processing functions, and product liability.
  • Working knowledge of cost-effective materiel management functions of warehousing, purchasing, distribution methods, supply techniques, processing functions, and product liability
  • Knowledge in use and application of mathematical calculations for accurate assessment of inventory replenishment, weight, units of measure, and package counts are essential.
  • Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in addressing customer service needs and delivering clear, timely and helpful response.
  • Ability to or prior working knowledge to adjust assignments during staffing shortages and the ability to respond to emergency or disaster situations. Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform job.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to ensure alignment between departmental goals, production requirements, and staff development needs.
  • Ability to maintain legible, concise, accurate, and pertinent documentation and records relating to all aspects of assigned work functions.
  • Skilled in providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and structured coaching to staff at all levels.
  • Ability to apply a consistent set of supervisory standards to guide employee performance, address concerns, and maintain accountability in a fair and impartial manner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge and experience with Lawson system
  • Background in computerized information systems is strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of UC and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to all aspects of business.

Department Overview

The Supply Chain Clinical Inventory Department has responsibility for managing inventory processes and controls in support of Perioperative Services and Heart & Vascular Centers to ensure day to day operations run smoothly. Oversight of this department include management of 3 perpetual inventory locations, over 300 par cart locations, escalation resolution, and capacity/expansion planning. Among its primary functions, the inventory management of medical supplies; patient equipment rentals and tracking; acquisitioning of specialty patient care equipment; par-stocking, supply, and equipment delivery systems.
