Inova Health Care Services seeks a Psychometrist for its Developmental Pediatrics department. The role involves supporting children with neurodevelopmental disorders, utilizing expertise in psychological testing and assessment to enhance comprehensive care. As a Psychometrist, you will be an integral part of our team, dedicated to the well-being of children aged 2-21 with neurodevelopmental challenges. Your role is crucial in administering and interpreting psychological tests, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and providing valuable insights to families. Join us in making a positive impact on the lives of these children and their caregivers. This role will be full-time day shift from Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Psychometrist Job Responsibilities:

  • Administers the battery of psychometric tests selected by the supervising psychologist consistent with the standards set forth in published manuals.
  • Accurately and completely records patients' test responses and scores psychometric tests with the appropriate norms. Provides detailed behavioral observations of patients they examine that may be used by the psychologist to aid in test interpretation.
  • Documents clearly, concisely and legibly with established timeframes (e.g. allows others to continue treatment, allows for interpretation by payers, supports reimbursement), as evidenced by chart review.
  • Documents evidence of patient and family/caregiver education as evidenced by chart review.
  • Gives information and instruction to the treatment team pertinent to the psychological and behavior strategies for patients as evidenced by staff feedback.
  • Provides educational material and community resource information appropriate to the patients' and their families' level of understanding and motivation as evidenced by team feedback.
  • Provides verbal report of psychological issues to groups (e.g. rounds) in a manner appropriate to the level of the audience and in a manner which facilitates learning and treatment planning as evidenced by feedback.
  • Demonstrates collaboration in communication with team members and is open to feedback and receptive to change as evidenced by observation and feedback.
  • Completes all administrative responsibilities in support of the operating units program goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience - 1 year of experience in a clinical/school/medical rehab setting with children aged 2-21 with neurodevelopmental disorders ( e.g., ADHD, ID, ASD, genetic syndromes).
  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field from an accredited college or university with one course work in Psychological testing and assessment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Bilingual preferred
