The Maryland Department of Transportation, The Secretary's Office (MDOT TSO), is seeking a Salesforce Supervisor (IT Systems Technical Specialist Supervisor) within the Division of Information Technology. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of Salesforce.com platform including planning, developing, designing, configuring, customizing, testing, training, documenting, and implementing improvements and new or advanced systems or applications. The Salesforce Supervisor provides ongoing maintenance and support of custom applications and third-party integrations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Providing Salesforce guidance to business analysts to ensure requirements are understood using user stories
  • Planning and designing Salesforce.com system architecture
  • Developing and demonstrating new or enhanced systems or applications
  • Creating, defining, and implementing technical best practices and standards while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and team members to build solutions
  • Assisting with planning, designing, developing, modifying, training, and supporting other computer programs and applications
  • Evaluating IT project requests
  • Training, assigning, reviewing, and correcting work of other Salesforce Administrators and Developers
  • Providing system administrator support to include Cornerstone Learning Management System and PULSE

The employee in this position will receive direct supervision from the Cloud Services Manager.

The current vacancy exists in the Division of Information Technology, at MDOT Maryland Transportation Authority (MDOT MDTA) which is located at 2310 Broening Highway, Baltimore, MD.

This position may allow a hybrid work schedule, including telework and required on-site work hours.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems or other information technology-related field to include course work in application, communication, database or operating systems software technology.


Experience:
Four (4) years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software.

*Selective Qualification: Two (2) years of this experience must include experience in Salesforce Lightning Development.

*This statement contains a selective qualification which is more focused in scope than the minimum qualifications for this classification. Selective Qualifications are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (i.e., knowledge, skill or ability).No substitutions are allowed for a Selective Qualification.

The ideal candidate will possess one of the following certifications:

  • Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator
  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II
  • Experience managing a version control solution i.e., Bitbucket

2. An additional year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software may be substituted for the required education.

3. Experience operating multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems; or scheduling, controlling input and output or maintaining a tape library to process data on multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining microcomputer hardware and software; or converting data from project specifications by writing program code using third generation or other generally accepted computer programming languages may be substituted for high school on a year-for-year basis.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Computer Systems Operations classifications or Computer Systems Operations specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
