What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a Data Analyst to serve as the data and reporting champion to serve the needs of the Semi program. You will create and translate data into useful, easily digestible information that can quickly be translated into action via recommendations you will make. These reports and visuals will be used by many teams and leaders internally to get maximum utilization of the Semi, increase team efficiency, drive new sustainable revenue, and provide insights to our customers, both internally and externally.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver clear reports, service center KPIs and visualizations to inform stakeholders and ensure clarity and alignment on strategic goals of Semi Service Programs
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for cleaning, extracting, and aggregating datasets to support reporting, predictive analysis, and decision-making across Semi Service initiatives
- Write clean, tested code that can be maintained and extended upon by other analysts. Provide information and insights to the service programs team and collaborate cross-functionally in the creation of customer-facing materials
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex data findings into actionable recommendations for managers and executives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Business Development, Field Service, Service Quality, and Program Managers) to translate business needs into actionable insights, dashboards, and executive reports
- Conduct advanced analytics including cost analysis of customer pay programs, workforce management planning and product/reliability validation (e.g., Vehicle Off Road calculations), to drive operational efficiency
- Ensure data accuracy and compliance by validating methodologies, adhering to data governance standards, and maintaining documentation for auditability. Support predictive modeling efforts to forecast service demand, optimize resource allocation, and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Review time-series data from vehicle logs. Support requests to extract and evaluate data from vehicles to aid in trend analysis, component trials, and service opportunities.Leveraging Git/GitHub for version control, code reviews, and collaborative development to ensure reliability and reproducibility
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Proficient with Python and SQL
- Self-motivated, fast learner capable of first principle thinking in an ever-changing data landscape
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI
- Demonstrated ability to provide insights and conclusions from large, dense datasets
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Experience with time-series data, such as CAN, is preferred

Expected Compensation
$100,000 - $372,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
