JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist to join our Strategic Data Insights and Operations team. This role will support the development and execution of advanced analytics strategies across corporate, commercial, medical, and clinical domains. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in data science, strong knowledge in machine learning, a passion for improving patient outcomes, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses to support business decisions across Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Clinical Operations.
  • Integrate and analyze large-scale datasets, including anonymized patient-level data (APLD), real-world evidence (RWE), and internal operational data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define Key Performance Indicators, develop dashboards, and deliver insights that inform brand performance, sales projections, and market access strategies.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate new data sources and analytical tools to enhance the organization's data capabilities.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure data integrity, compliance, and alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Partner with IT and engineering teams to design and scale data pipelines, storage solutions, and compute environments that support advanced analytics workloads.
  • Assess and recommend tools, platforms, and architectures for data ingestion, transformation, and model deployment.
  • Contribute to the development of data governance frameworks and metadata management practices.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of analytics infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Work with Global Data Analytics on integrating disparate data sources to provide a holistic view of key customer interactions and activity as well as measurement of key organizational initiatives
  • Establish & coordinate data flow between internal sources and external vendors
  • Ensure compliance with US and international data privacy and security regulations
  • All other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a data science role, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Jupyter, GOplot), and common data manipulation libraries (NumPy, pandas, polars, etc.).
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, XGBoost) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial data, healthcare claims, or real-world data is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of current trends in applied machine learning or prior demonstrated machine learning research is a plus, especially in time-series or natural language processing applications.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of biopharma commercial data operations and sales data analytics infrastructure.
  • Creative thinker; self-directed; able to develop a plan, gain alignment, and execute.
  • Highly collaborative; flexible and can work easily across functions; comfortable leaning into all aspects of a commercial business and making recommendations to optimize company or team approach.
  • Can build and maintain strong customer and partner relationships.
  • Strong ability to drive execution through an organization.
  • Relevant experience with specialty pharma data preferred.

Relevant experience with rare disease states preferred.
