Production Manager - Bushing Assembly
About the Role:
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Production Manager for its Bushing Assembly operations. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient, costeffective production by managing plant equipment, personnel, and processes to meet order demands, quality expectations, and productivity goals. The position develops capacity plans, drives operational performance, oversees production budgets, and leads continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards. Responsibilities:* Ensure safe and compliant production operations by enforcing HSE procedures, conducting safety inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture. * Develop and implement capacity plans aligned with business strategy and production roadmaps. * Oversee daily production activities by developing and adjusting schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines. * Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs); track deviations, perform rootcause analysis, and implement corrective actions. * Prepare and manage the annual production budget; monitor costs and take action to maintain financial targets. * Allocate and utilize materials, equipment, and labor efficiently to maximize productivity. * Analyze production order data to determine labor hours and material requirements; recommend adjustments to baseline estimates. * Coordinate with supply chain to manage inventory levels and ensure timely material availability; oversee manufacturing subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety, permit, and work standards. * Ensure product and process quality by maintaining compliance with industry standards and internal specifications. * Identify and implement opportunities for waste reduction, cost savings, and process improvements through lean manufacturing methodologies. * Support customer visits by explaining manufacturing capabilities, processes, and quality systems; act as a technical representative for the production area. * Prepare reports on production performance, achievements, and improvement actions for presentation to senior leadership. * Lead, develop, and motivate a diverse workforce; ensure accountability, collaboration, and strong performance through effective coaching and performance management practices. Requirements:* Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred. * Minimum 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience. * Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and quality standards. * Demonstrated ability to lead teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, KPIs, and financial metrics. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with crossfunctional partners, suppliers, and senior management.
