* Base Pay Range:$16.68 - $26.31per hour, based on experience

* Shift Differentials:Additional $0.70 per hour for the night shift and $1.00 per hour for weekends.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

The Telemetry Monitoring Technician provides customer-focused telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms to ensure the prompt andaccuratedelivery of care vital to patients with cardiac arrhythmias, suspected arrhythmias, drug intervention per floor with need for observation, and potential of life-threatening cardiac events. Initiates code and rapid response teams for patients at risk of death or serious harm. Collaborates with health care providers toinitiate, monitor, and communicate findings during video monitoring of patients at risk of harm due to medical conditions.Assistswith delivery and maintenance of inventory, including inventory storage, cleaning, and troubleshooting.

Establishes andmaintainsaccuracy andproficiencyin the analysis and interpretation of ECG rhythms, spo2 waveforms, and other vital signs, as set by physician orders, which are used tomonitorpatients' overall medical condition. Preserves records within the cardiac monitoring system for access by the treatment team. Conducts ongoing surveillance of patient ECG rhythms. Surveillance may also include blood pressure, spo2 level, respiratory rate, and Co2 level, depending on the acuity level. Responsiblefor developing a comprehensive understanding of patient conditions and communicatingtoRNs and clinicians with immediate notification of changes in cardiac rhythms.Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns, current patterns, and prior variances.Admits, transfers, and discharges patients and enters all required information in the telemetry monitoring system. Observes assigned monitors continuously and responds to alarms promptly and appropriately. Acts as preceptor and mentor to new monitor technicians.

Provides brief, focused education to nursing staff to promote an understanding of cardiac rhythms. Initiates telemetry monitoring via delivery and attachment of telemetry monitoring equipment, or in conjunction with the Care Team Associate (CTA) or RN.Maintainsa shift call log documenting communications related to unresolved escalations of vital signs and other conditions. Maintains inventory, including storage, ordering, troubleshooting of faulty equipment, and disinfection procedures.Assistsin daily operations, contributing to an ongoinghigh levelof customer satisfaction, safety, and experience. May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma oran equivalentcombination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can beacquired.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree or trade school equivalent.

Healthcare experience.

Additionallicense/certification requirements asdeterminedby the hiring department.

This role also routinelycomes into contact withpatients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day,365 daysa year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will berequired.
