Job Summary

Under the division of University Marketing & Communications, Marketing and Communications creates proactive, innovative, and comprehensive marketing, communications and branding strategies that highlight Drexel's academic strengths and research, while emphasizing the value and potential of the experiential education model. Marketing and Communications works closely with colleges, schools, academic and administrative staff throughout the University to create comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that serve the University's overarching branding, recruitment and retention goals to meet or exceed the enrollment and revenue objectives. Marketing and Communications defines, protects, and disseminates the Drexel University brand while clearly illustrating its unique value proposition.

The Web Solutions Manager reports to the Director of Web Development and is a member of the Digital Strategy team within Marketing and Communications at Drexel University.

This role leads web projects for campus partners across the University, with a primary focus on the migration, launch, and ongoing maintenance of Drexel's web properties. The Web Solutions Manager brings strong project management skills and technical fluency in web development concepts, content management systems, and related technologies, enabling effective collaboration with developers, designers, and IT partners without serving in a hands-on development role.

The Web Solutions Manager serves as a primary point of contact for college and school stakeholders, guiding them through the full web project lifecycle-from intake and planning through migration, quality assurance, launch, and post-launch support-while balancing institutional priorities, timelines, and standards.

In addition, the Web Solutions Manager contributes to the development and support of processes that strengthen the University's web community and enable centralized web governance. This role collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and administrators across Drexel's colleges and schools to ensure that web content and digital properties are accessible, sustainable, and aligned with institutional standards and strategic initiatives.

Essential Functions



  • Relationship Management

    • Cultivates and strengthens strategic partnerships with campus stakeholders across the university.
    • Leads relationship management across multiple projects and teams, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and successful outcomes.
    • Serves as a liaison to internal UMAC teams, providing technical guidance and leadership to bridge gaps between teams and initiatives.


  • Project Leadership

    • Manage end-to-end web projects such as website redesigns, content restructuring, and college-/department-level migrations to Drexel's central CMS.
    • Coordinate project timelines, milestones, and deliverables in partnership with University Marketing and Communications and IT.
    • Ensure all web initiatives align with Drexel's brand standards, digital governance policies, and strategic planning efforts.
    • Plays a key role in implementing and overseeing nearly 200 sites throughout the Drexel ecosystem.


  • User Experience & Accessibility

    • Apply UX best practices to improve site navigation, information architecture, and responsiveness.
    • Ensure all Drexel websites adhere to WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, and Drexel's digital accessibility guidelines.


  • Technical Coordination

    • Collaborate internally with UX and IT's front and back-end developers to implement components within Drexel's CMS environment and to assist in UAT testing as needed.
    • Assists in providing CMS support to campus partners across the university for the duration of web projects.


  • Make web edits and updates to any sites maintained by University Marketing & Communications, and other websites assigned to the department.
  • Assists with support and documentation as needed.
  • Provides training for new and/or existing functionality to campus partners as needed.
  • Assists with testing and QC of components, upgrades, and new functionality as needed.


Required Qualifications



  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing web and digital projects.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, with the ability to review, troubleshoot, and communicate technical requirements.
  • Experience working with a content management system (CMS).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across a decentralized academic and administrative structure.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, balance competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in higher education or a complex multi-site organization.
  • Experience using Sitecore, Microsoft SharePoint, and project management software (Asana, MS Planner, Trello, Smart Sheet, Slack, etc.).
  • Experience working in a university communications office, academic department, or higher-ed digital environment.
  • Knowledge of Drexel's brand style, communications guidelines, and academic program structures.

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $54,630.00 - $81,940 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
