Get to Know Your Team:

  • UT Health Athens is a 127-bed facility, including a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and acute stroke ready facility; advanced diagnostic technology; 10-bed ICU; maternity unit radiation therapy center; and a stand-alone ED in Gun Barrel City.

Responsibilities

The Manager of Therapy Services will provide leadership through management of departmental operations including, but not limited to: fiscal management of human resources and supplies; effective staffing and scheduling of day-to-day, weekend, and holiday services; employee development; performance improvement; and oversight of clinical processes. The Manager will conduct team conferences with assigned personnel in order to disseminate organizational and departmental information, solve operational challenges, develop employees, and promote team building. The manager will assist the director in improving the quality of patient care and obtaining maximum utilization of staff. The manager will promote positive working relationships among personnel supervised, medical staff, hospital employees, patients and others. Provision of physical, occupational, or speech therapy services and documentation of patient care: clinical evaluation; formulation of treatment plans & goals; treatment interventions, and formulating and carrying out discharge plans.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.
  • Baccalaureate, Master, or Doctorate Degree of Physical Therapy.
  • Current Texas Licensure to practice Physical Therapy.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Previous management or leadership experience, plus 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital or rehabilitation facility with participation in a multi-disciplinary team.
