About the Role (Job Summary)

McKesson is seeking an experienced, peoplecentered Director of Site Operations (DCL) to lead our 450,000 sq. ft. Distribution Center in Clear Brook, VA. This is a highimpact leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring exceptional customer service, and building a strong culture of engagement and accountability. As the senior site leader, you will oversee approximately 300 warehouse and transportation professionals, manage $54M in inventory, and provide strategic oversight for inbound, outbound, inventory control, transportation, facility operations, and safety.

This newly automated facility features advanced materialhandling systems-including automated induction, workflow management, casetobelt technology, and conveyor automation-and supports five additional crossdock locations with transportation teams reporting into this DC. This is an opportunity to lead a complex, highvolume operation and shape the next era of performance, culture, and innovation.

Relocation to the Clear Brook/Winchester, VA area is required.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Lead overall site operations including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, transportation, inventory control, and facility maintenance.
  • Build and foster a positive engagement culture that motivates and empowers teams across the distribution center.
  • Develop and mentor warehouse and transportation leaders to deliver consistent, exceptional service to our customers.
  • Review, analyze, and improve operational processes to meet financial goals and performance targets.
  • Ensure accurate, timely product flow and execution of daily operational plans to achieve productivity, quality, and safety KPIs.
  • Oversee fleet operations for more than 40 delivery vehicles, ensuring regulatory compliance, safety, and efficiency.
  • Utilize workforce planning, productivity reporting, and performance metrics to maintain operational stability and reduce attrition.
  • Ensure the security, integrity, and quality of all inventory and customer orders.
  • Drive continuous improvement, operational innovation, and adoption of automated warehouse technologies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment aligned with McKesson's safety and compliance standards.
  • Play a key role in exempt leadership hiring, nonexempt staffing strategies, onboarding, and ongoing development.

Basic Requirements (Critical Skills & Experience)

Minimum Education & Typical Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience at increasing levels of responsibility within operations, distribution, supply chain, or related fields.

Role-Specific Required Experience:

  • 12+ years of operational experience including 4+ years of peopleleadership experience in a complex distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing full P&L ownership for a large-scale operation.
  • Demonstrated success leading both warehouse and transportation teams in a highvolume, metricdriven environment.
  • Proven ability to lead through change, build strong teams, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to dive deep into operational details.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience working with warehouse automation or advanced material handling systems.
  • 9+ Years of people-leader experience in a complex distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment at increasing levels of responsibility within operations, distribution, supply chain, or related fields
  • Strong background developing highperforming leadership teams and fostering a culture of engagement and accountability.
  • Technical aptitude with WMS systems such as JD Edwards or similar.
  • Experience leading operations in a multisite or regional network environment.
  • Proven track record of driving productivity, safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic distribution setting while maintaining focus and composure.
  • Excellent relationshipbuilding, communication, and influencing skills.

Travel, OnSite Expectations & Physical Requirements

  • Full onsite presence required; position is located in Clear Brook, VA with relocation expected.
  • Ability to travel by plane to additional distribution centers and crossdock locations for leadership meetings, training, and operational alignment.
  • Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments, which may include extended periods of standing, walking, or exposure to varying temperatures.
  • Ability to lift/carry and operate a laptop and other sitebased technology tools as needed.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $105,600 - $176,000
