DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for monitoring designated horses, collecting urine samples, and ensuring proper packaging and documentation in accordance with established procedures. Your duties will include retrieving sample kits from the State Veterinarian's office, verifying the sample numbers on the urine cups and security straps, and notifying the State Veterinarian once the samples have been collected. You will also assist the Veterinarian with blood collection while ensuring that the horse remains under the constant supervision of the Livestock Worker. Identification of the horse will be done by reading its tattoo number, and you will need to return, split, and wrap both urine and blood samples following the prescribed guidelines. Additionally, maintaining a clean work area, bedding stalls, and performing other tasks as assigned will be part of your responsibilities. Interested in learning more? REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Experience in general farm work; and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Post Employment Requirement:
- This position will require possession of a Commission Employee License once hired.
Preferred Qualification (not required):
- Experience working with and around horses
