The John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (WVU), an R1 research institution and AACSB-accredited college, invites applications for an Associate Professor position in Business Ethics. This full-time, tenure-track position is set to begin in August 2026.

Position Description

The successful candidate will:

Deliver high quality instruction of business ethics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Conduct research with an emphasis on the philosophy of money. Applicants for this position are expected to have an established, proven record of publishing their research in high-quality outlets and a plan to continue publishing in such outlets.
Participate in service activities, supporting departmental, college and university initiatives in line with the college's mission.
Qualified candidates will be eligible for the Satoshi Nakamoto Faculty Fellowship, which provides summer support and research funding.

This position emphasizes teaching (40%), research (40%) and service (20%).

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Philosophy, or a closely related field. The department is seeking candidates who have already earned a Ph.D. degree (ABD candidates will not be considered at this time).
  • Must have the ability to teach business ethics courses.
  • Applicants must demonstrate expertise and potential for scholarly productivity and classroom excellence.
