Job Description

Professional research administration position that focuses on leading post-award grant/contract activities. This position leads a team of three analysts and collaborates with the Associate Director and Director of SPA on the administration of grants awarded to the University, including providing analytical oversight, fulfilling compliance requirements, and performing post-award accounting for grants and contracts. This person must apply compliance and fund accounting principles, maintain and utilize knowledge of internal, governmental and industry accounting standards in the analysis and preparation of daily, monthly, year-end transactions as well as periodic and recurring financial and programmatic audits. In addition, this position will interface and collaborate with principal investigators, departmental personnel, SPA staff, and funding agencies in successful management of sponsored projects. This position will actively participate in professional opportunities related to research administration. Ability to perform as a self-starter with high-level initiative, strong work ethic, and good organization skills are a must. Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills are required as well as the ability to multi-task and manage a high volume of emails in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Supervise 3 Post-Award Analyst staff.
- Manage workflow for a team responsible for post-award activities related to campus grants and contracts, including monitoring expenditures, effort verification, invoicing, preparation of financial and progress reports, data management and presentation of information, and regulatory compliance.
- Apply compliance and fund accounting principles, maintain and utilize knowledge of internal, governmental and industry accounting standards in the analysis and preparation of daily, monthly, year-end transactions as well as periodic and recurring financial and programmatic audits.
- Interface/collaborate with principal investigators, departmental personnel, OSPA staff, and funding agencies in successful management of sponsored projects.
- Actively participate in professional opportunities related to research administration.

Shift

Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pmMonday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education & experience from which comparable knowledge & abilities can be acquired is preferred. Experience in Research Administration is required.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Grade: GGS 010
