Overview

The Specialty Access Program Manager is responsible for leading operational performance, process optimization, and program execution within the Specialty department. This role drives strategic initiatives that improve patient access, enhance reimbursement outcomes, and ensure compliance across specialty workflows.

The Manager partners closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to analyze performance trends, identify operational gaps, and implement scalable solutions that improve efficiency, conversion, and overall patient experience.



Responsibilities

    Identifies operational gaps and develop strategic action plans to improve efficiency, compliance, and performance outcomes
  • Leads the implementation of process enhancements across the Specialty Access team
  • Drives standardization of workflows and best practices throughout the Specialty department
  • Oversees escalation tracking and resolution, identifying systemic trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Conducts root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement sustainable corrective action plans
  • Analyzes data and performance trends to identify opportunities for optimization and growth
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), including billing holds, turnaround times, conversion rates, and reimbursement outcomes
  • Develops and present performance insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Supports the development of dashboards, reporting tools, and performance tracking mechanisms
  • Supports onboarding and training initiatives to ensure consistency and operational readiness across the team
  • Assists in developing and maintaining training materials, job aids, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Promotes accountability, continuous improvement, and high-performance standards within the team
  • Partners with Revenue Cycle, Clinical, Compliance, IT, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and execution of specialty initiatives
  • Supports enterprise initiatives that impact specialty access, reimbursement, and patient onboarding

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • RN preferred
  • 3-7 years of experience in specialty pharmacy, infusion services, revenue cycle, or healthcare operations
  • Demonstrated experience leading operational improvement initiatives and managing complex workflows
  • Strong understanding of specialty access, payer requirements, reimbursement processes, and compliance standards
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • High level of adaptability and accountability
  • Percentage of Travel: 0-25%

**To perform this role will require frequently sitting, standing, walking, and typing on a keyboard with fingers, and occasionally bending, reaching and climbing (stairs/ladders). The physical requirements will be the ability to push/pull 1-10lbs and lift/carry 21-30 lbs**
