Are you looking to join a small but growing, collaborative, and dynamic team? Our Infectious Disease & Travel Clinic in South Portland is seeking aPatient Service Representative (PSR)to support our expanding practice. With six new physicians added in the past three years, we continue to grow and are excited to welcome an additional administrative professional to our team.

This is a full-time (40 hours), benefits-eligible position with a consistent weekday schedule - no nights, weekends, or holidays!

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • On-site position (no remote flexibility)

Position Summary

The Patient Service Representative plays a vital role in ensuring a positive and seamless experience for our patients. This position supports both our Infectious Disease and Travel Clinic services and serves as a key point of contact for patients visiting our practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in/out patients in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Schedule appointments, including hospital follow-ups, new consults, and travel-related visits
  • Obtain and verify insurance authorizations
  • Create and process referrals
  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls
  • Support overall administrative and front office functions

About Our Practice

Our team cares for patients with a wide range of conditions, including:

  • STI/HIV management
  • Bone and joint infections
  • Chronic UTIs
  • Non-healing surgical wounds
  • Travel medicine consultations for patients traveling around the world

With diverse patient needs - from complex infections to global travel health - every day brings something new and interesting. We are looking for someone who is eager to contribute ideas, support patient-centered care, and be part of a team that values collaboration and community impact.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Previous office experience with medical office experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.
