Responsibilities

The Director, Donor Marketing is a pivotal leadership role within New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe), overseeing a team of seasoned marketing professionals tasked with driving donor engagement and donor acquisition across various Blood Operations divisions. Working closely with divisional Donor Recruitment and Collections teams to ensure alignment with overarching marketing strategies. The Director, Donor Marketing operationalizes Enterprise Donor Engagement strategies at the local level, guiding and empowering divisional marketing managers to execute targeted initiatives that meet product and service objectives across all divisions. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Strategy and Planning, Donor Engagement, this role carries significant responsibility in steering local marketing efforts in line with enterprise goals.

Candidates must be able to report into one of the following NYBCe locations: Rye, New York; Providence, RI and Newark, DE.

    Drive marketing strategies and initiatives that directly support the achievement of procedural and product-type collection targets required to meet the needs of approximately 400 hospital partners.
  • Ensure that Enterprise Donor Engagement marketing strategy is appropriately scaled and proportionally aligned to the unique goals, market conditions, and performance needs of each division.
  • The Director, Donor Marketing leads, mentors, and motivates a team of divisional marketing managers, ensuring their alignment with the strategic vision of the Enterprise Donor Engagement leadership.
  • Translate Enterprise Donor Engagement leadership directives into actionable plans at the divisional level, driving the execution of marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Collaborate closely with Enterprise Donor Engagement and divisional teams to implement targeted marketing campaigns that bolster blood collections and other key performance metrics.
  • Partner with Enterprise Donor Engagement leadership on national and local campaigns, focusing on enhancing donor frequency and expanding the donor base.
  • Evaluate campaign performance and market dynamics to propose necessary adjustments in response to evolving conditions.
  • Optimize media relationships and expenditures to support strategic objectives, including the review of partnership agreements and media plans.
  • Provide relevant materials to operational and support departments to ensure their participation in marketing initiatives aligned with DE and divisional objectives.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Communications on media communication strategies aimed at cultivating a sustainable donor base at a local level.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of local advertising opportunities and local partnerships and promotion programs, ensuring compatibility with broader donor communication efforts.
  • Prepare various reports.
  • Attends conferences, seminars, as required.
  • Makes recommendations to improve business unit practices and processes.
  • Any related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education:

  • BA or Master's degree in marketing, communications, or public relations.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated leadership experience in marketing and/or communications, including at least seven years of team management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating media opportunities and buying.
  • Strong organizational and managerial skills, adept at prioritizing assignments and problem-solving within tight constraints.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.

Licenses / Certification:

  • Valid Driver's License.

Knowledge:

  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize work to optimize team performance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook, as well as proficiency in computer desktop applications and software systems.

Skills:

  • Cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain collaborative relationships at all levels.

Abilities:

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, as required.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and respond to urgent business needs.
  • Resolve problems and customer concerns.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure, work both independently and collaboratively, and analyze problems to identify alternative solutions within established protocols, policies, and procedures.

Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the requirements above that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $165,000.00p/yr. to $175,000.00p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
