Summary Our Data Science team leverages advanced analytics and machine learning to transform complex data into meaningful insights that drive strategic business decisions. We work across the organization using cutting-edge tools like Azure, Databricks, and Spark to build scalable models and data-driven solutions. Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and deployment of data science models and analytical solutions using Python, R, SQL, and Spark
- Work within our Azure cloud environment and Databricks platform to extract, transform, and analyze large-scale datasets
- Apply regression analysis and machine learning techniques (supervised and unsupervised learning) to solve business problems
- Collaborate closely with Tech Leads and cross-functional team members in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Synthesize complex analytical findings into clear, concise conclusions for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Participate in code reviews and team stand-ups
- Support data quality assessments, exploratory data analysis, and feature engineering efforts
- Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program. Masters preferred
- Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
- Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
- Knowledge of modern programming language such as Java, Python
- Knowledge of frameworks like Spring and Angular
- Knowledge in database design and development using SQL Server
- Good understanding of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures, algorithms and experience with large datasets
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a closely related quantitative field
- Familiarity with SQL for data querying and manipulation
- Exposure to programming in Python and/or R for data analysis or statistical modeling
- Foundational understanding of regression techniques and machine learning methods, including:
- Supervised learning (e.g., classification, regression)
- Unsupervised learning (e.g., clustering, dimensionality reduction
- Familiarity programming in a team environment (e.g., using version control such as Git)
- Quick learner with an analytical approach to solving problems as part of a collaborative team
- Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize conclusions and present insights to non-expert audiences
- Ability to work effectively with Tech Leads and senior team members
- Desire to influence technical decisions and contribute meaningfully to team discussions
Preferred qualifications Familiarity with the following
- Apache Spark or Databricks notebooks
- Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure ML, Azure Synapse)
- Data visualization tools or libraries (e.g., Power BI, Matplotlib, ggplot2, Seaborn)
- Advanced statistical methods, deep learning, or NLP
- Hackathons, Kaggle competitions, or open-source data science projects
- Agile/Scrum methodologies
